I include in this category some of the English names that our students chose: Soro, Sky, Seven, Erica (boy), Sweedy (our assistant), Blastoise, Gottfried, Apple, Potato, Rice, Rabbit, Richer, Aston Martin, Saske, Micle, Jerry, YoYo, Zulu, Flender.
Sometimes the translations and signs are absolutely ridiculous. Here are some that we encountered in our trips:
This was a sign in one of the hostels we stayed in:
Not to mention this was in a public toilet...
Hand towel approved?
Probably my favorite -- a shop in Shangri-La:
Inside the Oriental Pearl Tower, where they also fear "the smell of effluvium":
How about we spell vocabulary first?
The messages on the T-shirts were also quite something.
Never figured out what the pillow contained...
These kind of signs are all over China and South East Asia. You can see more stuff like "Spicy Jew's Ear" or "Fresh Crap" at Engrish Funny. Enjoy!
